One down... so many more to go

Well, one of the three (minimum... *sigh*) camps that I am doing this summer is done. It was, without a doubt, the most ridiculous place I have ever been in my life. I have never been in a situation that had more hysteria or melodrama than that camp. Here is a recap of some key events:

- Girl faints on bus from heat stroke
- Girl gets punched in the face by strange boy at the public swimming pool
- Boy kicks other boy in pants and causes his penis to bleed
- Boys decide that it is easier to get into the girls room via window and climbing over the school rather than the door.
- Boys decide to jump David, Daniel and me at the pool only to end up with 2 injured spines.
- We try to teach them capture the flag only to have to quit 20 minutes later due to one semi dislocated shoulder, 1 sprained ankle and a mild concussion.
- Girl with aforementioned concussion, who was walking awkwardly, head tilted, and (I kid you not) with eyes crossed and lazy, refused to be taken to the hospital and held onto a sofa screaming. This in turn caused a massive uproar of wailing amongst the girls who claimed that this girl was going to die.

Later I will write about the "episode" that takes the proverbial cake

Snowmelt demands movement

The sun is out again today. The snow has all but melted except for in the abandoned lots where they piled it up several stories high; but even those piles are melting, leaving behind all of the grime that was plowed up with the snow and rivulets of water running towards the nearest gutter. The fact that the water reaches the drain is quite a feat. Just weeks ago it would have frozen halfway across the sidewalk... and lain in waiting for an unsuspecting jogger. But, as I said before, the sun is out now, the temperatures are up, and the ice is nowhere to be seen. I am running out of excuses to avoid jogging, if you will permit the pun. I am in some of the worse shape of my life and I don't particularly feel good about it. Blogs

I remember when I started blogging. I think I was one of the first people I know to start blogging. Dont get me wrong, it was a cultural phenomenon back 4 years ago when I began, but none of my friends really did it. And then all of a sudden a bunch of us did. We all kept it up for a while, some came and went, but I had a pretty vibrant blogging community. Tonight I found myself checking my friends blogs and finding only abandoned websites for the most part. It kind of kills a lot of the fun of blogging for me.
