My favorite movie of all time

After years of trying to find my favorite movie (it is hard for me, a film buff, decide), I have finally decided. It is Calle 54 of course. This is the only film that moves me to a physical response EVERY time. I smile, laugh, and somtimes even cry. It is true emotion, color and beauty. No other movie can move me to real emotional responses EVERY time. True, there are some comedies that make me laugh whenever I see them (like happy gilmore and better off dead), but this is deeper.



It is a movie/rocumentary/documentary/music video film that really blows me away. A collection of staged performances by famous latin jazz performers, this movie has emotion. Any jazz lover should watch it.... again and again and again. I know I do.

Winter is almost here. You can never tell for sure at this time of the year. One day it is warm, the next it is cold. But for the past couple of weeks, the Fall has been wrestling, and losing, to Winter. The mornings start out very cold, and slowly the day starts to warm a bit as the sun comes out. Snowmelt demands movement

The sun is out again today. The snow has all but melted except for in the abandoned lots where they piled it up several stories high; but even those piles are melting, leaving behind all of the grime that was plowed up with the snow and rivulets of water running towards the nearest gutter. The fact that the water reaches the drain is quite a feat. Just weeks ago it would have frozen halfway across the sidewalk... and lain in waiting for an unsuspecting jogger. But, as I said before, the sun is out now, the temperatures are up, and the ice is nowhere to be seen. I am running out of excuses to avoid jogging, if you will permit the pun. I am in some of the worse shape of my life and I don't particularly feel good about it. Photos of Ireland

I have neglected my blogs over Christmas I admit it. I will appease the blog gods by sacrificing these newly developed Ireland pictures: This was off the coast of Kerry. A beautiful sight, where the sunlight would break through the fast moving, low clouds and create brilliant pools of light on the water. Those very clouds were ravenous as they came off the sea and they ate every mountaintop that happened to be in their way. This was Killarney at Christmas time, like the song. Guinness factory.
